YUMA, Ariz. – The first taste of the 2025 NJCAA Division 1 World Series was sweet for the Butler Community College softball team. Freshman pitcher Ellie Randall threw seven shutout innings as the ninth-seeded Butler Grizzlies defeated the eighth-seeded Paris Dragons 3-0 in the second round on Monday afternoon at the Pacific Avenue Athletic Complex.
The Butler Community College softball team earned the No. 9 national seed in the upcoming 2025 NJCAA Division 1 Softball World Series this afternoon as the NJCAA released the 20-team bracket. Ninth-seeded Butler (44-7) will take on the eighth-seeded Paris Junior College Dragons (50-9) on Monday at 3:30 MST (5:30 CST) in the first round of play. The game will be streamed on the NJCAA Network, (Pay-per-view). Student-athletes Kory Schoenfeld, Claire Lopez and Addy Ewing as well as head coach Morgan Bohanan fielded questions following the selection show.

Butler 6, Barton 5 (F/7) – Region 6 Championship Game Butler softball clinched its spot in the NJCAA Division 1 World Series in Yuma, Arizona, with a 6-5 win over the Barton Cougars in the Region 6 Championship game in Dodge City.
Butler 9, Barton 1 (F/7) - Region 6 Tournament The first game of the championship series had big implications, if the Cougars won they would be crowned Region 6 champions while if the Grizzlies won they would live to see another day. Butler ensured they would get another crack at it as they used seven fifth inning runs to grab a 9-1 run rule win.
Butler 18, Garden City 6 (F/5) - 2025 Region 6 Softball Tournament It was a game of revenge for Butler as Garden City handed Butler a loss on the opening day of the Region 6 Tournament. The Grizzlies wasted no time on Sunday, plating eight first inning runs to jump out to an 8-0 lead over the Broncbusters. All eight first inning runs came with two outs as the Grizzlies passed the bat, aided by a Broncbuster error. Butler scored multiple runs in each inning, out-hitting Garden 14-5 in the game. They led by as much as 14 at 18-4 in the bottom of the fourth.
