Beavers Take Post-Thanksgiving Trip to El Dorado

Pratt, Kan. – The Beavers will take a post-Thanksgiving road trip to El Dorado, KS to face the Butler Community College Grizzles.

Saturday's game can be heard on KMMM 1290 with Austin McNorton calling the action. McNorton is in his first year as voice of the Beavers. The game will be streamed on butlergrizzlies.com.

Last Time Out

On Tuesday night the Beavers traveled to Hutchinson, KS to do battle with the Blue Dragons. What was a fast paced, back and forth game had the Beavers leading at halftime 52-47. In the second half, the Beavers got into foul trouble and were forced to manage minutes of several starters. Hutch won the second half 59-47 and the game 106-99. Pratt did lead Hutch in two statistical categories with 68 points in the paint and 54 rebounds in the game. The Beavers did turn the ball over 27 times which is the second game in conference play where the Beavers turned the ball over 25 or more time.

Scouting the Grizzlies

The #20 Butler Community College Grizzlies are 7-1 overall and 2-1 in conference play. Their only loss this season came against the Trojans of Colby Community College 104-84. The Grizzlies average 95.1 points, 44.1 rebounds, and 17.9 assists per game. The Grizzlies return nine players this season including leading scorer guard Caleb Golden who averages 13.7 points a game. Juniors Eden Holt, Jaden Okon, Keyon Thomas, and Marque English all average 11 points a game. On the other side of the ball English is leading the team with 7.5 rebounds per game. Finally, the Grizzlies this season have only allowed 65.6 points to their opponents and are 4-0 in the Power Plant.

Last Season vs. Grizzlies

Last season the Beavers only faced Butler once at home which resulted in a loss 91-60.

Foul Trouble on the Road  

On Tuesday night, the Beavers had three players foul out of the game and another player with four fouls. Sophomore forward Cam Morris picked up foul four and five off one play with his fifth foul being a technical. Sophomores Tommy Thomas and Harrison Eghan also fouled out in the second half of the game. Sophomore guard Nasan Ayala picked up four fouls in the game.

Double Dose of Double-Doubles

Two players for the Beavers picked up their first double-double of the season on Tuesday night. Ayala led the team with 18 points and 12 rebounds. Freshman forward Quintin Metcalf scored 17 points and had 12 rebounds.

The Beavers will take a brief pause in conference play for a rematch against Northern Oklahoma College-Enid on Wednesday, December 1st in the Beaver Dome at 7:00 pm.
