Struggles Continue for the Beavers against Butler

The Beaver women's basketball team continued their road trip in El Dorado, KS this afternoon, January 28. They faced the Butler Grizzlies who entered the game on a winning streak, most recently defeating Northwest Tech on January 25. The Beavers entered the contest on a five-game losing streak, most recently losing to Hutchinson on January 25.  

During the entire first quarter, Butler maintained the lead and led 15-7 after one quarter. The second quarter was closely contested with the Grizzlies only outscoring Pratt 19-18. Butler led 34-25 at halftime. Coming out of the locker room at half, the Beavers did not score until the 5:44 mark of the third quarter. Butler led 60-42 after three quarters. In the final quarter it was much of the same as Butler rolled to a 84-56 win.  

Macy Hanzlick led the team with 19 points while Princess Anderson came off the bench with 14. This was Anderson second straight game shooting under 20 points. Isis Sanders finished with 10 points. Pratt only shot 25.4% from the field and 27.0% from the three-point arc.  

Pratt will take the next week off and prepare for another road game next Saturday, February 4 at Cloud County. Tip-off is set for 2:00 pm.
