NPCC Knights split games in first round of Ramada Classic

NPCC Knights split games in first round of Ramada Classic

The NPCC Knights Volleyball Team finished their first round of the Ramada Classic on Friday in Columbus, Neb. with one win and one loss. Up against Butler CC first, the Knights took the match in three sets, 25-19, 27-25 and 25-23. NPCC's Gabby Menghini had 13 kills and 14 digs, while Erica Hopping had 46 assists.

The Knights then lost their 7 p.m. game against Cowley CC also going three sets, 22-25, 18-25 and 20-25. NPCC's Menghini had 12 kills, Hopping had 32 assists, Bailey Chintala had 11 digs and Ruby Valle had 10 digs.

NPCC head coach Alexa McCall is looking forward to day two of the tournament.

"I still think we are searching for consistent play. We have some good opportunities tomorrow and I hope we can execute," said McCall.

The Knights Volleyball Team is now 10-15 on overall season record. NPCC will resume play in the Ramada Classic on Saturday, Oct. 5, playing Fort Scott CC at 1 p.m. and Kansas City Kansas CC at 3 p.m.
