PRATT, Kan. – Butler track and field wrapped up the 2024 Region VI Outdoor Championships at Pratt's Bill Keller Family Sports Complex on Saturday.

The Grizzly men finished sixth out of 15 competing schools with 71.5 points accumulated while the women finished 8th out of 13 with 54 points.
Khloi Bird was the first individual for Butler to turn in a first place region championship result as she won the women's 10000m, running 39:39.72.
The men's 4x100m relay earned a region championship title as Devian King, Andre Morrison, Eddy Vu and Jonathan Farinha ran 40.26. In the last leg Farinha overtook three runners in an impressive effort to secure first for the Grizzlies.

Farinha later won the men's 100m, running 10.23. Andre Morrison took third running 10.26.
William McKiney took third in the men's high jump clearing 1.97m.
In the women's 3000m steeplechase Heidi Grimmett took second (12:16.17) and Valyrie Freeman finished third (12:40.16).
Nasia Lee came in second in the men's 110m hurdles with a time of 13.99.
Farinha then took second in the men's 200m running it in 20.46.
Bird earned her second top-three finish in the women's 5000m with a time of 18:43.53.
The men's 4x400m relay consisting of King, Michael Thomas, Abdelhakim Boukhiar and Farinha came in second (3:08.72).
The Grizzlies now look to the NJCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships hosted by the University of Louisiana Monroe from May 16th-18th. All Grizzly qualifiers for nationals will be updated on ButlerGrizzlies.com at a later date.
