Men’s Track and Field Qualifies 3 for NJCAA Nationals at Kansas State

The Grizzlies saw three qualify for the NJCAA Indoor Nationals in the men's 1000m. Itumeleng Nxgabazi (2:29.98), Ainsley Campbell (2:30.82) and Kamohelo Ramatsebe (2:31.76) finished second, fourth and fifth in the 1000m in Manhattan and secured a spot at the Nationals in Lubbock, Texas, in March. Bhekizulu Khumalo ran 2:32.38 for a seventh place finish with Ishmael Achaempong finishing ninth (2:36.60) and Cesar Pavia coming in 10th (2:42.35).
Ramatsebe won the men's mile (4:17.91) with Nxgabazi (4:18.99), Achaempong (4:19.21) and Bhekizulu Khumalo (4:21.21) finishing in third, fourth and fifth.
Clifford Joyce III jumped 6.75m in the men's long jump for a second-place finish. Beckham Kantekule jumped 6.48m following behind in sixth place.
In the men's 200m, Amos Oruamabo finished third running 21.92.
Butler returns to the track this Saturday as they travel to Pittsburg State for the NAIA/JUCO Challenge.
