Bouldjadj named KJCCC Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week

COLBY, Kan. – Butler's Adem Bouldjadj was named the Week 5 KJCCC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week, league officials announced on Tuesday.

Bouldjadj won the Men's Prairie Fire 8k at the Arkansas Chile Pepper Festival this past weekend. Bouldjadj, a Jijel, Algeria, native ran a 24:16.2, finishing over 90 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher. He placed first out of 272 total runners in the race. It was his third race of the season, and it was the third race he has finished first in.

The KJCCC Runner of the Week award is the second this season for Bouldjadj as he previously won it in week one on Sept. 5th after winning the Terry Masterson Twilight Classic. He was also named the USTFCCCA NJCAAA D1 National Athlete of the Week on Sept. 14 following the win at the Twilight Classic.

Butler men's and women's cross country resumes action on Oct. 14 at the Firestarter Classic in Iola, Kan.
