Grizzlies and Roughriders Split in Missouri

NEOSHO, Mo. – Butler softball took on Crowder College in non-conference action on Monday at Crowder and split the doubleheader losing 10-4 in game one and 13-0 in game two.

Crowder plated seven runs across the fifth and sixth innings with three in the fifth and four in the sixth to take down the Grizzlies. Ellie Randall (L, 5-1) suffered her first loss of the season allowing four earned runs on five hits, striking out four and walking none. Emillee Stofferahn threw the sixth allowing three earned runs on three hits. Crowder outhit Butler 9-4. The lone Grizzly to record multiple hits was Chloe Cardona who finished 2-3.

Fortunes changed for the Grizzlies in the second game as they cruised to a 13-0 five inning run rule win. They outhit Crowder 13-3 and Chloe Odle (W, 4-1) threw a complete game striking out eight and walking two. The Grizzlies mounted a seven run fourth inning and five run fifth inning to cap the win.
