Morgan Bohanan was named head softball coach on June 17, 2022 and enters her second season in charge of the Butler softball program in 2024.

In her first season, Bohanan's group overcame early season struggles to ultimately finish with a record of 46-12, the Grizzlies third consecutive year posting 45+ wins. Butler continued its string of Region VI dominance under coach Bohanan's guidance, as they won both the Region VI and Plains District Championship for a seventh consecutive year. The Grizzlies earned a place at the NJCAA Division I Softball World Series as the #8 seed. Bohanan collected her first World Series win as a coach when the Grizzlies defeated the ninth-seeded College of Southern Idaho 4-1 in the opening round of the tournament. Bohanan helped coach 10 Grizzlies to All-KJCCC honors in 2023, with pitcher Allyson Montgomery being named KJCCC MVP. Montgomery was later named a second team NJCAA All-American. Six Grizzlies signed with NCAA D1 programs following Bohanan's first year at the helm

A former NJCAA All-American infielder and NJCAA National Champion at Butler, Bohanan served as an assistant coach for the Grizzlies for two seasons (2021-22) prior to being named head coach. 

As an assistant during the 2021-22 season, Bohanan helped the Grizzlies to their 11th-straight KJCCC Championship along with a Region VI title and Plains District title. The Grizzlies advanced to their sixth-straight NJCAA Naional Tournament and finished the season with a 48-4 overall record. Bohanan coached KJCCC Player of the Year Madi Young and a multitude of All-KJCCC players.

During the 2020-21 season, Bohanan helped lead the Grizzlies to a 51-4 overall record. They won their 10th consecutive KJCCC Championship, fifth straight Region VI Title and made the National Tournament for the 11th time in school history. The Grizzlies had a 47-game win streak during the season. The Grizzlies had five players selected as NJCAA All-Americans, three NFCA All-Americans and 11 All-KJCCC players. Butler was first in the NJCAA in doubles (149) and on-base % (.500). They finished second in the NJCAA in batting average (.433), runs (634), RBI's (583) and runs against (121). Butler was ranked as high No. 2 during the season.

During the 2019-20 season, Bohanan was an assistant coach at Otero Junior College in La Junta, CO. They had a 12-5 record prior to the cancellation of the season due to COVID-19. She also coached summer ball with Impact Sports.

Bohanan, a Goddard, KS native, transferred to Butler after attending the University of Kansas her freshman season. There, she appeared in four games for the Jayhawks. She suffered a season-ending shoulder injury and was granted a medical redshirt. She recorded first career hit against La Salle (March 6).

At Butler in 2016, she played in 52 games while playing first and third base for the Grizzlies. She was named to the NFCA NJCAA Division I All-America First Team as well as being named a First Team All-KJCCC selection. Bohanan helped Butler win the 2016 NJCAA National Championship as she led the Grizzlies in batting average (.490), doubles (30) and on-base percentage (.562). She Ranked second on the team with 77 hits and led all KJCCC Division I hitters with a .528 average during league play. She hit safely in 22 of 25 games (March 21 to May 5) with 18 doubles, 31 RBIs and 30 runs scored while accumulating a .589 batting average (43-for-73) Bohanan finished 8-for-19 with four doubles and four runs scored during the NJCAA National Tournament.

After Butler, Bohanan transferred to Creighton University where she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Communication. She medically retired from Creighton after battling with injuries.

Bohanan currently resides in El Dorado.
