Soccer picks up 4th straight KJCCC win, takes down Coffeyville

COFFEYVILLE, Kan. – Butler soccer won its fourth straight KJCCC game on Wednesday at Veterans Memorial Stadium, defeating Coffeyville 3-0.

Butler (5-2-5, 4-2-3 KJCCC) exacted revenge on Coffeyville (3-7, 2-7 KJCCC) who earlier this season took down Butler, 1-0, for the first time in El Dorado throughout head coach Adam Hunter's era. Wednesday's win saw Butler's record vs. Coffeyville move to 26-2-1 all time under Hunter.

Butler went into halftime ahead 1-0 before scoring twice in the second half and shutting out the Red Ravens to win 3-0. The Grizzlies dominated from start to finish, outshooting the Red Ravens 19 to one.

Sophomore midfielder Emma Kolbe scored first for Butler in the 33rd minute. Kolbe followed up freshman defender Giselle Nash's shot that was stopped by Coffeyville's goalie and scored.

Freshman forward Macie Windsor made it 2-0 in the 54th minute with a deep shot from the left side of the field that was assisted by freshman midfielder Sakiko Manabe.

The final score of the night came from freshman forward Maya Hoge as she tapped in a deflection from the Coffeyville goalie.

Kolbe, Windsor and Hoge all scored their second goals of the season.
