Kolbe Named NJCAA D1 Women’s Soccer Player of the Week

EL DORADO, Kan. – For the second time this season, a Butler soccer player has been named the NJCAA Women's Soccer Player of the Week.

Emma Kolbe was named the national player of the week following her stellar performance last week as Butler went 2-0 in the final week of the regular season. The award comes after Kolbe was named the KJCCC Player of the Week earlier this week.

In a 5-1 win over Seward Kolbe scored an unassisted goal in the first half to put Butler ahead 2-0. In a 6-0 win over Dodge City Kolbe totaled three assists, a career-high, as well as scoring a goal of her own in her last home game as a Grizzly.

Kolbe joins freshman midfielder Sakiko Manabe as the two Grizzlies to earn national player of the week recognition this season.

Butler plays Hutchinson on Friday at the Salthawk Sports Complex in the quarterfinal round of the region VI playoffs.
