Soccer Grabs 1st Win of 2024 in KJCCC Opener at Coffeyville

COFFEYVILLE, Kan. – No. 12 ranked Butler soccer opened its 2024 conference slate on the road at Veterans Memorial Stadium Thursday night and came away with a 3-0 win over the Coffeyville Red Ravens.
The win was the first for the Grizzlies (1-0-1) as they tied No. 3 Seminole State in the season opener. The Red Ravens fell to 0-2 on the season.
Butler outshot Coffeyville 25-3 in the game and headed to halftime with a 2-0 advantage in tow. Hayde Flores (28:09) and Maya Hoge (42:39) both scored their first goals of the season for Butler in the first half.

London Ingram added her second goal of the season in the second half at the 58:59 mark to put Butler ahead 3-0.
The Grizzlies finished with seven corner kicks to Coffeyville's none. Reigning KJCCC Goalkeeper of the Week Rylie Schiffelbein had three saves in 67 minutes of work for Butler. Millie Robshaw-Charlesworth was in goal for the final 23 minutes.
Butler is back in action on Sunday evening when Barton travels to El Dorado for a 7 p.m. conference game. The Cougars won the league in 2023 and took down the Grizzlies in the Region 6 semifinals.
