KANSAS CITY, Kan. – No. 10 Butler soccer's late lead slipped away on Wednesday evening as No. 12 Kansas City Kansas CC tied the game with one minute and thirty seconds remaining to force a 1-1 draw at the KCKCC Soccer Field.
Butler (2-0-2, 2-0-1) led for 43 minutes of the second half before KCKCC's (4-0-1, 2-0-1) Kiara Carr netted a goal in the 88th minute on a through ball. The draw set aside Butler's three game winning streak marking the second tie of the season and first in conference play.
Butler freshman forward Macy McKissick scored her first goal of the season just 30 seconds into the second half to give Butler a 1-0 lead. McKissick took a shot which the Blue Devil keeper sent back but McKissick recovered it and took another shot that she was able to convert. The initial shot was created by a pass from sophomore Sakiko Manabe.

The Grizzlies return home for a game Sunday with No. 18 Hutchinson at 7 p.m.
