No. 10 Butler Soccer Holds Off No. 18 Hutchinson
EL DORADO, Kan. – No. 10 ranked Butler soccer faced a stiff test at BG Products Veterans Sports Complex with No. 18 Hutchinson coming to town Saturday, and the Grizzlies were able to fend off the Blue Dragons 3-2.
EL DORADO, Kan. – No. 10 ranked Butler soccer faced a stiff test at BG Products Veterans Sports Complex with No. 18 Hutchinson coming to town Saturday, and the Grizzlies were able to fend off the Blue Dragons 3-2.
Butler (3-0-2, 3-0-1 KJCCC) remains unbeaten on the season and handed the Blue Dragons (3-1-1, 2-1-1 KJCCC) their first loss of the season. Butler is now 2-0-2 vs. ranked opponents this season and is set to play No. 14 ranked Cowley on Wednesday at 5 p.m. in Arkansas City.
The Grizzlies built a 2-0 lead in the first half with goals from London Ingram (7', assist Isabel Sandoval) and Ruby Kilden (12', unassisted). Sandoval set Ingram up perfectly on the run in front of goal and Ingram delivered her third goal of the season to make it 1-0. Kilden tapped in a ball after it bounced around off a corner kick to make it 2-0.

Hutch made it 2-1 at the 34 minute mark of the first half when Katharina Marx scored off an assist from Kira Artmann.
Butler headed to halftime with a 2-1 lead in tow. Merari Flores added to the Grizzly lead at the 56' mark off an assist from London Ingram.
Hutchinson threatened with a late unassisted goal from Artmann to make it 3-2 but the Grizzly defense held the Blue Dragons off for the final seven minutes to secure the win.
Grizzly keeper Rylie Schiffelbein was in goal all 90 minutes recording eight saves on 10 shots.
Butler is now 17-10-1 all-time vs. Hutchinson.
