Butler Scores Season-High 6 Goals, Cruises Past Garden City

EL DORADO, Kan. – Four first half goals for No. 8 Butler set the tone in a 6-0 win over Garden City on Saturday evening at BG Products Veterans Sports Complex.
Butler (5-0-2, 5-0-1 KJCCC) won its third straight game, pouncing on the Broncbusters (3-5, 0-5) early and often.
Freshman forward London Ingram netted two goals, her second consecutive game with two goals as she also helped the Grizzlies to a 4-3 win over No. 14 Cowley on Wednesday.
She started the game off in the 24th minute with a streaking goal off an assist from sophomore midfielder Sakiko Manabe. Freshman defender Isabel Sandoval then scored twice in a row at the 26 and 29 minute marks to give the Grizzlies a 3-0 lead. Manabe scored a goal of her own before halftime at the 34-minute mark off an assist from freshman Tyesha Nelson.
The Grizzlies used all three goalkeepers with Millie Robshaw-Charlesworth playing the most (45 minutes in goal), totaling three saves. Rylie Schiffelbein played 25 minutes and had a save while Brooklin Lynch led the team with four saves in 20 minutes of action.
Sophomore Maya Hoge scored her second goal of the season in the second half as freshman Eva Preister assisted. Hunter scored her second with two minutes remaining in the game.
The six goals was the most for the Grizzlies since Oct. 21st vs. Dodge City in a 6-0 win at home.
Butler returns to action on Wednesday, Sept. 18th, at 6 p.m. when Seward travels to El Dorado.
