Grizzlies Get Goals From 4 Players in Home Win Over Seward
EL DORADO, Kan. – Butler soccer continued its winning ways with a 4-1 home win over the Seward Saints on Wednesday evening at BG Products Veterans Sports Complex.
EL DORADO, Kan. – No. 6 ranked Butler soccer continued its winning ways with a 4-1 home win over the Seward Saints on Wednesday evening at BG Products Veterans Sports Complex.
The No. 6-ranked Grizzlies (6-0-2, 6-0-1 KJCCC) remain undefeated this season and the win was their fourth consecutive victory. Seward (2-4-2, 1-4-1) lost their second straight.
Leading scorer and reigning national player of the week London Ingram got Butler on the board first in the seventh minute as she stole the ball from the unassuming Seward keeper and put in the goal to make it 1-0. It was Ingram's eighth goal of the season.

Freshman Tyesha Nelson netted the second goal of the first half for Butler off a corner kick from sophomore Sakiko Manabe. Nelson kneed the ball in past the Seward goalie for her first goal of the season, making it 2-0 in the 30th minute. The game went to halftime with Butler leading 2-0.
Butler built a 4-0 lead with two second half goals before Seward got on the board in the 69th minute to avoid the shutout. Sophomore Giselle Nash netted her first goal of the season off another Manabe corner kick in which freshman Hayde Flores kicked back to Nash and set her up on the left side to put the goal in. Flores then got in on the scoring herself in the 62nd minute to make it 4-0, her second goal of the season. She was able to score from deep after freshman Anahyssa Nash set her up.

Sophomore Rylie Schiffelbein was credited with the win in goal as she started and played 55 minutes with no shots on goal. Millie Robshaw-Charlesworth and Brooklin Lynch each saw time in goal with both finishing with saves.
The Grizzlies will travel to Dodge City on Saturday for an afternoon game with the Conquistadors.
