Butler Soccer’s Ingram, Schiffelbein Win KJCCC Player of the Week Awards

COLBY, Kan. – Butler soccer freshman forward London Ingram and sophomore goalkeeper Rylie Schiffelbein picked up KJCCC Player and Goalkeeper of the Week awards on Tuesday the conference announced.

Schiffelbein has won the weekly award three times in five weeks to start the year while Ingram picks up her second consecutive weekly award of the season.

Ingram continued her scoring rampage in KJCCC play with a goal in each of the Grizzlies' wins. Ingram scored the opening goal in Butler's 4-1 victory of Seward and then converted a clinical header to score Butler's second goal in their 2-0 victory at Dodge City. Ingram has now scored in six of Butler's eight conference games, leading the KJCCC in conference scoring with seven goals and ranking 13th nationally with nine total goals.

Schiffelbein picked up her conference best sixth and seventh wins on the season in net last week. After logging the opening 55 minutes of a 4-1 Grizzly win against Seward where she did not allow a goal the sophomore followed up with a complete game shutout at Dodge City where she made a highlight save early in the second half to preserve Butler's one goal lead at the time. Schiffelbein is now 7-0-1 on the season with a 0.98 GAA on 30 saves. The sophomore ranks fourth in the NJCAA with seven total wins in net.  

Butler returns to action on Sunday, taking on Coffeyville at 7 p.m. from BG Products Veterans Sports Complex.
