HUTCHINSON, Kan. – In a top-20 matchup on the road, the No. 8 ranked Butler Grizzlies played to a 0-0 tie with the No. 16 ranked Hutchinson Blue Dragons at the Salthawk Sports Complex on Wednesday evening.
Butler (9-1-4, 9-1-2 KJCCC) slides into second place in the conference standings with the tie after falling to KCKCC earlier this week. Hutchinson (7-2-4, 6-2-4) remains in fourth place.
The Grizzlies outshot Hutchinson 28-8 in the game including 15-5 in the first half but were unable to slip one by Hutchinson keeper Karsyn Slothower who tallied 11 saves. Butler had shots miss off the post, cross bar and had 11 shots on goal total.
Possession was dominated by the Grizzlies throughout who also had six corner kicks to Hutchinson's two.
Ruby Kilden and Sakiko Manabe each had six shots with Kilden placing four on goal. London Ingram had five shots with two on goal. Rylie Schiffelbein played all 90 minutes in goal finishing with three saves.
Butler is back in action vs. another ranked opponent on Saturday when the Cowley Tigers travel to BG Products Veterans Sports Complex at 7 p.m.
