GARDEN CITY, Kan. – No. 8 ranked Butler soccer lost to Garden City for the first time in the 23-year existence of the program, falling 2-0 to the Broncbusters at Broncbuster Stadium Wednesday.
Butler (10-2-4, 10-2-2) suffered just its second loss of the season. Garden City (5-9-3, 1-9-3) earned its first conference win of the season. The Grizzlies are now 18-1 all-time vs. Garden City.
Garden City scored a goal in both halves. The second goal in the 80th minute was scored from 20 yards out and gave Garden City a multiple goal lead.
Butler outshot Garden City 19-5 but Garden City keeper Leydaly Enriquez finished with 14 saves. Millie Robshaw-Charlesworth spent all 90 minutes in goal, finishing with one save.
London Ingram and Ruby Kilden led Butler with four shots each.
Butler returns to action on Friday at 1 p.m. at Seward.
