Bio

The 2024 season marks Travis Stipp's eighth as an assistant coach with the Butler soccer program. Stipp oversees the goalkeepers and assists with the day to day operations of the program, primarily focusing on analytics and graphic marketing of the program.

"When you think of top goalkeeping coaches in the State of Kansas, Travis Stipp is right at the top of that short list with his colleagues," said head coach Adam Hunter. "Travis and I have built a strong relationship over the years and he is a perfect fit for Butler Soccer.  He does a fantastic job with our players and produces some of the best juco goalkeepers, year after year."

During Stipp’s time at Butler, the program has been to four additional NJCAA National Tournaments (16, 18, 20, 21), has won three Region VI Championships (16, 20, 21), a Plains District Championship (18) and four KJCCC Conference Titles (16, 17, 18, 21).  The goalkeepers have not disappointed either.  Butler goalkeepers have earned a multitude of post season awards and many have continued their soccer careers at NCAA Division I and II intuitions.

In addition to Butler, Stipp serves as the Director of Goalkeeping with the Kansas Rush Wichita program and was a staff goalkeeper coach with the Kansas Olympic Development Program.

Stipp played collegiately at Friends University, where he helped the Falcons to a KCAC Championship and an NAIA regional birth. In 1998, he was named the Friends' Newcomer of the Year.

A graduate of Wichita Northwest High School, Stipp was a three-year varsity letterman goalkeeper under head coach Bobby Bribiesca. Stipp played on the 1995 6A State Championship team, as well as the 1996 and 1997 squads which took third at state. As a senior, Stipp was named to the first team All-Region and 6A All-State squads. He was also a two-time All-City second team selection.

Stipp holds a USSF "D" License and a NSCAA Advanced National Goalkeeper Diploma.

Stipp earned his bachelor's of science degree in criminal justice from Friends University in 2006. He served 16 years as a law enforcement officer with the Wichita Police Department.

He is married to wife, Andrea, with four children – Hannah, Ashlynn, Creighton and Victoria – and resides in East Wichita.
