Women’s Track and Field Opens Indoor Season at Kansas State

MANHATTAN, Kan. – Butler women's track and field kicked off its 2025 indoor season at Kansas State's Cliff Rovelto Indoor Track as part of the Thane Baker Invitational on Saturday.

In the women's mile Butler had three finishers. Alison Unruh (5:39.59) in fifth, Alexa Marshall (5:54.16) in sixth and Valyrie Freeman (5:58.59) in seventh.

Destiny Ponds jumped 4.82m in the women's long jump for a ninth-place finish.

La Tanya Johnson finished second in the women's 1000m (3:37.40).

Butler returns to the track this Saturday as they travel to Pittsburg State for the NAIA/JUCO Challenge.
