Grizzly Women Compete at NAIA/JUCO Challenge

Butler saw athletes compete in the 800m, mile, 3000m and long jump.
It was the Grizzlies second indoor action of the season after opening the year at Kansas State's Thane Baker Invite on January 18th.
Elizabeth Hernandez registered a seventh-place finish in the mile running 5:20.62. Allison Unruh finished 16th running 5:33.97 in the mile.
In the 800m, La Tanya Johnson was the top Grizzly finisher with a 13th place finish (2:32.42). Jennifer Casas finished 23rd (2:41.50).
The 3000m saw three Grizzly finishers in the top-25 as Unruh came in 12th (11:18.48) with Valyrie Freeman (21st, 11:39.50) and Alexa Marshall (23rd, 11:43.87) rounding it out.
Destiny Ponds jumped 15' 1.25" in the long jump, finishing 25th.
The Grizzlies finished 28th as a team.
Butler is back in action on Friday traveling to Topeka for the Washburn Open. They turn around on Saturday to compete in the Herm Wilson Invite at Wichita State.
