Hernandez Qualifies for Nationals, Grizzlies Wrap Up Stay at Washburn Open/Coach Wilson Invitational
TOPEKA, Kan. – Butler women’s track and field wrapped up its stay at the Washburn Open and Coach Wilson Invitational on Friday and Saturday with the Grizzly women seeing their first National Qualifier this season.

Elizabeth Hernandez became the first Grizzly on the women's side to qualify for nationals this season as she ran 10:21.18 in the 3000m placing fifth out of 47 runners. Hernandez also placed 43rd in the women's mile running 5:21.72.
Alison Unruh finished 36th out of 50 in the 5000m running it in 19:16.27. Valyrie Freeman (19:54.68) and Alexa Marshall (20:09.75) finished 43rd and 45th in the 5000m.
On Saturday at Wichita State's Coach Wilson Invitational, La Tanya Johnson placed 11th in the 800m running 2:33.98 followed by Jennifer Casas in 17th (2:40.63).
