The Butler cross country teams competed Saturday at the Region VI Championships hosted by Colby Community College at Meadow Lake Country Club in Colby, KS.

The Butler women's team finished 7^th in the Region while them men's team came in 8^th.

The women finished the race scoring 206 points. Campbell Williams was the highest finisher for the Grizzlies coming in 41^st place with a 5K time of 22:51.65. Finishing right behind Williams in 42^nd place was sophomore Emily Hankins who ran a 22:52.06. Toby McClure ran a 23:51.27 with a 53^rd place finish while Leyni Gomez came in 59^th at 24:39.84. Ann Dangha rounded out the scoring finishing 69^th with a time of 26:05.67.

The Butler men scored 222 points in the race finishing 8^th. Victor Jumo was the highest point scorer running a 25:32.74 8K race good for a 12^th place finish. Erick Chavez finished 28^th running a 27:13.49 while Valeur Muyoboke came in 61^st place with a time of 29:39.65. Zack Trotter finished his 8K race in 30:51.81 good for 74^th place and Garin Knight rounded out the Grizzlies scoring coming in 95^th place with a time of 35:57.38.

Butler will now prepare for the NJCAA National Championships coming up on November 13th at Pole Green Park in Richmond, VA.
