Two more earn conference player of the week honors

Butler Soccer has earned two more Player of the Week recognitions from the Jayhawk Conference. Megan Snyder (Overland Park, Kan.) and Mel Nuessen (Emporia, Kan.) were honored for their work in Butler's three games this week.

Snyder had a good week two for the Grizzlies as she scored the game winner and added an assist in a 6-0 home victory vs NOC-Tonkawa. She then scored the Grizzlies' only goal in a 1-1 draw at Richland College. According to Butler Coach Adam Hunter, Snyder continues to be an engine in the middle of the park for the Grizzlies…scoring all of her goals outside the area. Her freshman season is off to a great start, and the Grizzlies look forward o her continued contributions.

Mel Nuessen made her season debut in shutout fashion when the Grizzlies blanked NOC-Tonkawa 6-0. Nuessen recorded two saves in the win. he then helped the Grizzlies to a 1-1 draw at Richland College making eight saves. Nuessen stepped into goal for the final 15 minutes in a 3-2 loss vs No. 2 Tyler Junior College.
