Miller and Nuessen represent #3 Butler as KJCCC Players of the Week

Butler moves up in the rankings to #3 and two Butler players were honored with KJCCC Player of the Week awards for Week 6.

Freshman forward, Alyssa Miller (Thornton CO) was the only Butler player to score in all three games (Allen, Garden and Cloud) last week including her first colligate hat trick against Garden City. Miller currently leads the team in points and can be counted on to produce on a regular basis. Her work rate and creativity add a special component to the Butler offense.

Sophomore goalkeeper, Mel Nuessen (Emporia KS) was a leader for the Grizzlies in the goal again this week. She played 225 minutes in goal turning away 11 shots and allowing only 2 goals. She made several big stops throughout the Cloud game and will continue to be called upon to lead the Butler defense. Week 6 marks Nuessen's second consectutive week as Player of the Week totalling 3 total awards this year.

Miller, NUessen and the rest of the Butler Grizzlies will be back in action this weekend. Friday they will travel to Hesston for a Region VI game at 7:00 PM. Sunday afternoon Butler will take on conference rival Hutchinson County in battle of the KJCCC best. Kick off is set for 3:00PM at Hutch.
