Dyer named KJCCC Player of the Week for week 1

Aisling Dyer, a freshman goalkeeper from Bettystown Ireland, was named KJCCC Player of the Week for week 1. Butler opened their 2011 season with the Butler Classic. #3 Iowa Western and #5 Laramie County made the long trip to El Dorado to take on the Grizzlies. Butler, backed by Dyers performance in the net, came out ahead in both games 1-0.

Dyer, playing her first colligate games on American soil this weekend, posted a clean sheet. Her confidence on the ball and in the goal changed the game for the Grizzlies. From quality distribution to breakaway saves, Dyer kept her team in two tight games. She led the Butler defense to 180 scoreless minutes in their 1-0 wins against two top 5 ranked teams.
