Grizzlies place 10 on All-KJCCC team; six earn All-Region VI

Butler soccer recently had 10 players earn All-KJCCC conference honors, with six being named to the All-Region VI team.

The Grizzlies had a conference-best four players earn All-Region VI first-team honors, while seven players received All-KJCCC first-team honors - also a conference high.

Forwards Paige Achey, Rosa Urista-Chico, Jaclyn Means and midfielder Lexi Clark were named to the All-Region VI first team, while defender Colleen Howland and goalkeeper Jami Reichenberger were awarded second-team honors.

Achey, Urista-Chico and Means were also named first-team All-KJCCC forwards. Clark and Erika Gurnsey received first-team midfielder honors, while Howland and Madison Zimmer were first-team defenders.

Reichenberger, along with sophomore defenders Amy Strath and Baylee Vaughn, garnered second-team All-KJCCC honors.

Butler head coach Adam Hunter was named the KJCCC Coach of the Year, marking the second time that he has won the award with the Grizzlies.

The Grizzlies (19-2-0 overall) defeated Johnson County 5-0 on Friday to win the Region VI Championship for the fourth straight season and earn their fifth straight trip to the NJCAA National Tournament, which will be held in Melbourne, Fla., on Nov. 16-21.
