After finishing 2-0 this week against two tough KJCCC opponents, the Grizzly Soccer team stands firm at #6 in the latest NJCAA National Poll.
The top 13 teams in the poll stayed put this week as there wasn't much movement inside the top 20. Butler is the highest ranked team that isn't undefeated on the season sitting at 7-2-0 on the year. Other two loss teams inside the top 20 are #9 Navarro, #11 Lewis & Clark, #14 Monroe and #17 Hill College, three of which have suffered losses to the Grizzlies already this season.
Butler is coming off a good week going 2-0 with two big conference wins. They defeated Johnson County 1-0, who was #18 last week, on the road in the final minutes of the game scoring in the 87th minute. The Grizzlies then handled the Red Ravens on Saturday winning 3-1.
Other KJCCC schools: Kansas City Kansas cracked into the top 20 for the first time since their inception in 2012. Both Johnson County and Cowley fell out of the top 20 after both teams suffered losses this past week.
The Grizzlies are now (7-2, 3-1) and will travel to Chanute, KS on Wednesday to take on Neosho at 7:00pm as they continue conference play.
