The 2024-25 season marks Matt Trosper's sixth as the Athletics Academic Coordinator at Butler.

Most recently, Trosper spent time as the Athletics Academic Coordinator at De Anza College in Cupertino, Calif., where he was an advisor for 400+ student-athletes.  Matt assisted the student athletes in achieving their academic goals including earning their Associate degrees and transferring on to four-year universities. 

During his time at De Anza, Matt was awarded the President’s Award for Outstanding Service (2002).  He also received the California Community College Athletic Association (3C2A) Athletic Academic Counselor of the Year award (2018). Matt has actively been involved in a number of professional organizations including:  N4A National Association of Academic and Student-Athlete Development Professionals and 3C4A California Community College Athletic Academic Advising Association. 

He graduated from University of the Pacific (Stockton, CA) in 1989 with a degree in Math.  He earned his master’s in Athletic Administration from Concordia University – Irvine in 2018.

In his spare time, Trosper has been a high school football referee on and off since 2003.

Matt and his wife, Michele, reside in Wichita.
