The Butler Grizzlies split a doubleheader against Colby, dropping a close encounter in game one, 3-2 against the Trojans before evening the series with a 15-9 victory at McDonald Stadium on Saturday, in two games where Colby was the home team despite playing in El Dorado. 

Game One 

It was a pitchers duel in game one, and Braxton Hyde was unfortunate not to get the win despite a great performance. Hyde pitched six innings, striking out 10 players and allowing just three runs on six hits in a complete game performance. 

The high powered Grizzlies lineup was held in check by Colby's pitching, and the Grizzlies found just two runs on three hits. 

Game Two

Game Two was the polar opposite of the first game, as the two teams combined for 24 runs and 25 hits. Josh Holmes, Cache Stone, and Paul Schoenfeld all hit home runs, Schoenfeld's three run blast in the fourth helped to cement the victory in a seven run fourth inning.

Tanner Leslie earned the win, his third of the year. Leslie pitched three innings, allowing four runs on four hits, striking out four.

The split puts the Grizzlies' record at 20-14 on the year, and 9-9 in conference play. The two teams will face off in the second doubleheader in the series on Sunday at McDonald Stadium.
