Butler Baseball Continues With Midweek Struggles in Loss to Neosho

EL DORADO, Kan. – Butler baseball lost a lopsided contest 17-8 to the Neosho Panthers on Tuesday afternoon at McDonald Stadium

The Grizzlies (13-11) allowed Neosho (18-8) to plate 17 runs on 19 hits as the Panthers scored at least one run in eight of nine innings.

Butler used six pitchers in the contest with none throwing more than 2.2 innings. Kage Ralstin (L, 0-1) made his first collegiate start and was hit with the loss as he threw 2.1 innings allowing six runs on five hits, striking out three and walking three.

Neosho's Saben Seager (W, 3-0) picked up the win as he tossed 4.0 relief innings allowing two runs, striking out four and walking four.

Panther second baseman Gilbert Rodriguez was 6-6 at the plate with five runs scored and two RBI.

Butler took a 5-2 lead in the bottom of the second before the Panthers scored a four spot in the third to climb back on top, never relinquishing the lead again.

Micah Kobuszewski led Butler with four hits and two runs scored. He hit his third home run of the season in the second, a solo shot to right to get Butler's scoring started. Charlie Marcantel finished with two hits and two RBI and Taber Stokes drove in two runs, also walking three times.

Butler returns to action on Thursday as they hit the road, traveling to Garden City for a doubleheader with th Broncbusters.
