Butler Shuts Out Neosho
CHANUTE, Kan. – Butler baseball got its second shutout win of the season in an 8-0 win over the Neosho Panthers at Hudson Field on Tuesday.
CHANUTE, Kan. – Butler baseball got its second shutout win of the season in an 8-0 win over the Neosho Panthers at Hudson Field on Tuesday.
The win evened the season series between the two after Neosho (28-11) defeated the Grizzlies (23-15) 17-8 at McDonald Stadium on March 19th.
Butler used five pitchers in the nine-inning shutout with Austin Bagnall (W, 4-1) earning the win, striking out three. Caden Hinther got the start and threw 3.0 scoreless hitless innings. Kage Ralstin, Dainan Burrows and Gavin Willet combined to throw the final 4.0 innings.
Neosho managed just two hits in the game. Starting pitcher Trevor Amershek (L, 0-1) suffered the loss giving up four runs and seven hits in 3.0 innings.
Butler's Taber Stokes and Breon Horne both homered in the game, their first home runs of the season. Stokes finished with three hits and four runs driven in. Horne had three hits and two RBI. Justin Hudson and Jordan Hedrick also drove in runs for the Grizzlies.
