Butler Baseball Suffers Midweek Setback at Coffeyville

COFFEYVILLE, Kan. – Butler baseball dropped a midweek game to the Coffeyville Red Ravens, 20-10, at Walter Johnson Park on Tuesday afternoon.

Butler (26-17) ends the season 0-3 vs. Coffeyville (19-25), allowing the Red Ravens to score double digit runs in all three of the games.

The Grizzlies allowed 20 runs on 17 hits, using six pitchers with starter Dainan Burrows (L, 0-1) taking the loss as he allowed nine runs (six earned) on seven hits in 2.0 innings.

Nine runs in the second inning from Coffeyville did Butler in as they could not dig out of a 9-2 hole. Butler did score a run each in the top of the first and second to lead 2-0 before the Red Ravens took the lead for good.

Offensively Butler was led by Anibal Rivera who finished 2-2 with three RBI and three runs scores. He smoked his sixth home run of the season in the first inning.

Frank Garcia finished 2-4 with two RBI and Taber Stokes drove in three runs on a bases clearing double.

The Grizzlies resume KJCCC play with a doubleheader vs. Seward on Friday afternoon at McDonald Stadium, first pitch set for 1 p.m.
