Beeby Nabs KJCCC West Player of the Week Honor
Butler baseball secured a season opening series win at North Central Texas College last week and catcher/outfielder Brandt Beeby was rewarded for his impressive play at the plate by the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference.
Butler baseball secured a season opening series win at North Central Texas College last week and freshman catcher/outfielder Brandt Beeby was rewarded for his impressive play at the plate by the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference.
Beeby, a Tulsa, Okla., native, was named the KJCCC West Division Player of the week for his three-game performance in Gainesville, Texas.
He finished 5-10 (.500) on the week, driving in four runs and slugging .800 with a .643 on-base percentage. He had two multi-hit games, stole three bases and had two home runs and two doubles across the three-game set.
Beeby was 2-3 with two doubles in the season opener. He followed that up with another 2-3 performance scoring three runs, walking twice and driving in two runs as the Grizzlies won 14-7 in game two. He hit Butler's first home run of the season in the game as well. Game three, a 7-5 Butler win, Beeby hit a two-run home run in the first inning
The Grizzlies return to action on Saturday, Feb. 22nd, in their home opener vs. Northeast CC.
