Ellison’s Bat Leads to KJCCC West Player of the Week Selection
Grizzly Freshman Wins 1st Career Weekly Award
Butler freshman infielder Jackson Ellison was selected as the KJCCC Baseball West Division Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.

Ellison, a freshman out of Wichita, helped the Grizzlies to a 3-1 series win over the Garden City Broncbusters in Butler's first conference series of the 2025 season.
On the week he finished 8-12 (.667) at the plate, driving in a team-high seven runs across the four-game set. In game one at Garden City, Ellison finished 3-3 with three RBI. The freshman also added multi-hit games in games two and four of the series and is now hitting .356 this season with 16 runs driven in and nine runs scored.
Ellison is hitting .340 on the season with 17 hits, a team-high 17 RBI and nine runs scored.
He joins Grizzly freshman catcher Brandt Beeby as the other Grizzly this season to win Jayhawk West Player of the Week.
The Grizzlies resume conference play at McDonald Stadium on Thursday as Pratt comes to town for a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m.
