Baseball Now 5-1 in KJCCC Play With Sweep of Beavers
Grizzlies Pick Up 4th and 5th Straight Wins

EL DORADO, Kan. – Butler baseball picked up two wins over the Pratt Beavers on Thursday afternoon at McDonald Stadium, winning 5-1 in game one and 11-10 in game two.
Butler (13-6, 5-1) has won five consecutive games following the two over Pratt (3-19, 0-6) who have lost 15 consecutive games.
Game one was a low scoring affair. Butler scored a run each in the first and second innings before Pratt got on the board in the fourth inning to make it 2-1. The Grizzlies scored three in the sixth to goi ahead 5-1, holding Pratt off in the top if the seventh to secure the win in the seven inning game. Shane Holman (W, 4-0) threw a complete game for the Grizzlies picking up his fourth win of the season. He allowed the one run on four hits, struck out seven and walked none. Jackson Ellison and Amarion Sailer each had multi-hit games for Butler. Pratt used two pitchers ion the contest with starter Ethan Froud making it 5.1 innings allowing five runs (four earned) on five hits, striking out five and walking one.
Game two was much more offensive as Butler slipped by 11-10. The Grizzlies trailed 4-1 entering the bottom of the fifth. Butler proceeded to rip off a run of scoring three runs in three straight innings, leading 10-5 after the seventh inning. Each team plated a run in the eighth to make it 11-7 going to the ninth. Pratt put a scare into the Grizzlies scoring four runs in the ninth but Grizzly reliever Jack Haag earned his fifth save of the season recording the final out. Freshman outfielder Jaden Rose shined at the plate hitting two home runs finishing 3-4 with three RBI. Alex Coester was 2-5 driving in a team-high four runs.
