CHANUTE, Kan. – Butler baseball suffered a big defeat at the hands of the Neosho Panthers at Hudson Field on Tuesday, falling 18-8 in non-conference action.
Butler (14-8) allowed 19 hits to the Panthers (10-6) while finishing with 13 hits of their own. The Grizzlies scored two runs in three consecutive innings (second through fourth) but Neosho used three third inning runs as well as seven in the fifth and six in the seventh to win by run rule in seven innings. The Panther's Maverick Williams finished 4-5 at the plate driving in eight RBI. Butler used six pitchers in the game with Thomas Gibbs being the only one to not allow a run as he tossed an inning striking out two. Connor Robinson (L, 2-1) was tagged with the loss allowing five runs in the fourth inning.
