Prior to Pittsburg State, Bachar spent two seasons as an assistant coach at his alma mater, Emporia State. While at ESU, Bachar worked with hitters, outfielders, and ran the strength and conditioning program.
The Russell, Kan., native began his collegiate playing career at Western Nebraska Community College. Following the stint at WNCC, Bachar transferred to Emporia State and played shortstop for the 2018 regional team. He started 42 of the 51 games he played for the Hornets that season, collecting 33 hits including 5 doubles, 2 triples, a home run, and 27 runs scored. ESU finished 34-24 and 20-16 in MIAA play that season, advancing to the NCAA Central Regional Tournament after narrowly losing in the MIAA Championship to UCM.
During the 2021 and 2022 summers, Bachar was the head coach of the Junction City Brigade. The Brigade won the Mid Plains League Championship twice and Bachar was awarded MPL Manager of the Year during both seasons.
