Butler improves to 2-0 with 45-3 win on the road at Highland

The Butler Grizzlies cruised to their second straight victory on Saturday, as they dominated the Highland Scotties from start to finish away from home at Porter Family Stadium in a 45-3 victory.

The Grizzlies started fast and never relented. Jaisean McMillian got the game started with a rushing touchdown that would prove to be all the Grizzlies needed. Butler found the end zone on their first three drives and cruised the rest of the way, taking a 35-3 lead into the half.

The Grizzlies put up 451 yards of offense. Jake Wolff tallied 14 completions on 28 attempts, with 303 yards passing and two touchdowns. AJ King starred for Butler, totaling 129 yards and four receptions as well as a touchdown. Highland had no answer for Azhaun Dingle, who had another stellar day, finding the end zone three times on eight carries, finishing with 48 yards.

The Grizzly defense was relentless all game. It was the fourth straight year where Butler held the Scotties to less than 10 points. The Grizzlies held Highland to just 81 yards of offense and an average gain per play of less than two yards. Caleb Foster led Butler with two sacks and the Grizzlies totaled seven as a team. Caleb Brown forced the only turnover of the game, picking off Highland in the first half.

Butler improves to 2-0 for the first time since 2019 with the victory. Head Coach Brice Vignery and the Grizzlies will head back home to prepare for a top 10 non-conference opponent, as fifth ranked Snow College comes into El Dorado and BG Products Veterans Sports Complex next Saturday for a 1:30pm kickoff.
