Dingle’s big week on the ground against Ellsworth earns him Jayhawk Conference Offensive Player of the Week

Story by Wyatt Ebersole

Azhuan Dingle's huge 31-carry, 245-yard, and four touchdown performance against the Ellsworth Panthers this past Saturday has earned him Jayhawk Conference Offensive Player of the Week Honors.

Dingle, the big 6'1, 225 running back Bayonne, New Jersey, was wreaking havoc at all levels of the Panther defense. Dingle set the tone early in the game as rumbled in three of his four scores on the day in the first 15:05 of the game.

Dingle's 245 yards rushing was the most in the game by a Grizzly since October 17th, 2015, against Coffeyville when Koby McCrary had 249 yards on the ground. His four scores on the ground were also the most by any Grizzly since Dreamius Smith had four touchdowns against Independence on September 15th, 2012. Dingle's big performance also put him over 1,000 rushing yards on the season, the first Grizzly 1,000-yard rusher since the 2019 season when Brock Sturges rushed for over 1,000 yards. Dingle is also second in the NJCAA in both rushing yards at 1,030 and rushing touchdowns with 17 this season.

This is Dingle first Offensive Player of the Week honor this season and he becomes the third Grizzly overall to selected to be selected as Offensive Player of the Week this year.
