The honor comes on the heels of Cloud, an Atlanta native, being named the KJCCC Defensive Player of the Week.
The Grizzlies defeated the No. 1 ranked Hutchinson Blue Dragons on the road at Gowans Stadium Saturday afternoon.
Cloud, a redshirt freshman, helped Butler hold the Blue Dragons to a season-low 22 points as Cloud finished with 9.0 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, and a career-high 3.5 sacks. Cloud also added a forced fumble and now has 40 tackles this season including 9.0 tackles for loss.
Cloud is the first Grizzly this season to be named an NJCAA national player of the week. The last Grizzly to be named national player of the week was kicker Carson Arndt in 2022.
