Easter picks up Div. I KJCCC ‘Player of the Week’ honors

For the first time this season, Butler Grizzly men's basketball player Grehlon Easter picks up KJCCC Division I 'Player of the Week' honors.

Easter, the 6-3 sophomore guard from Little Rock, Arkansas, had a monster week helping the Butler Grizzlies to two big wins over KJCCC opponents with the biggest coming against the No. 2 team in the country. 

Easter averaged 22.5 points per game last week while shooting 50 percent from the floor and 46 percent from 3-point range. He finished 9 of 10 in free throws, continuing to add to his high percentage of 82 percent.

Last Wednesday night, Easter led the Grizzlies and all scorers, with an 18-point performance helping Butler defeat Dodge City by a 31-point margin. On Saturday, Easter scored a game-high 27 points handing No. 2 ranked Hutchinson their first loss of the season. He finished 4 of 7 from 3-point range and a perfect 5 of 5 from the charity stripe. Easter is 10th in the KJCCC this season, averaging 15.2 points per game.

Easter is the first Grizzly men's basketball player to earn 'Player of the Week' honors this season.
