Grizzlies win fourth straight game of 14+ points with 27 point win Monday night

Shawn Hopkins made a layup :36 seconds into the game giving Butler a 2-0 lead and they would never give it back as they soared to a 90-63 win on the road Monday night over Cloud County. 

Shawn Hopkins set the tone in the first half, but Isaiah Williams sparked Butler in the second scoring 17 of his game high 20 points in the final 20 minutes of the contest. Butler nearly shot 50% on the night and limited their turnovers to only seven while forcing 20 on their way to a 27 point win.

Williams posted a career high 20 points in his 19 minutes on the floor. Hopkins finished with 16 points while Treylon Payne and Keyon Thomas both finished with 12. Payne finished with seven rebounds and three steals to go along with his 12 points. Noah Thomasson finished the night with 11 points, six boards and three assists.

"I am thrilled for our guys with how well they came out and played tonight," said head coach Kyle Fisher. "We played harder than we did last game and had our competitive edge back tonight. What an offensive performance by our guys tonight as well. I am thrilled for our guys to bounce back after a sloppy win Saturday in Goodland."

NEXT UP: Butler (8-2, 6-2) will head to Independence to take on the Pirates on Saturday, February 27 at 4:00pm. The Pirates are 8-2, 6-2 and currently tied with the Grizzlies in third place in the KJCCC East.
