Grizzlies Check In at No. 14 in NJCAA Rankings

EL DORADO, Kan. – Butler men's basketball slid down three spots to No. 14 in the week eight NJCAA D1 Men's Basketball Poll.

Butler (14-4, 9-3 KJCCC) has been ranked in every poll this season aside from the preseason poll, checking in no lower than No. 14 which is where they are slotted this week. Last week the Grizzlies went 1-1 with an 89-70 home win over Cloud County on Wednesday and a 69-59 road loss at No. 9 Cowley on Saturday.

Cowley remains the highest ranked Jayhawk Conference school moving up to No. 5 nationally this week. Coffeyville (No. 13) jumped Butler after being ranked one spot behind Butler a week ago. Hutchinson (No. 23) jumped into the rankings for the first time in six weeks as they are the winners of seven straight. Barton dropped out of the rankings and is receiving votes following a 1-1 week with a loss at home to Indy and a home win over Coffeyville.

The Grizzlies are 2-3 vs. currently ranked top-25 teams with wins over No. 3 Indian Hills and No. 6 NEO A&M. The losses came to No. 5 Cowley, No. 13 Coffeyville and No. 23 Hutchinson. Butler is 3-2 in ranked matchups on the season.

Butler has an off date on Wednesday. They return to action on Saturday, Jan., 25th, at Pratt with tipoff set for 4 p.m.
