EL DORADO, Kan. – The sixth ranked Butler Grizzlies took care of business in their final non-conference game of the season, defeating the NOC-Tonkawa Lady Mavs 75-43 at the Power Plant on Saturday afternoon.
The win for Butler (6-0) was the fifth time they have beaten an opponent by 30 or more points this season, defeating the Lady Mavs (1-6) by 32.
Sophomore forward Freddie Wallace led all scorers with 27 points, also adding seven rebounds, four steals and two assists. Sophomore forward Tiana Winn posted 15 points, six rebounds and two steals. Sophomore guard Randi Harding was the other Grizzly in double figures, finishing with 12 points, shooting 2-3 from deep.
The Grizzlies did not allow penetration into the paint, forcing the Lady Mavs into 4-25 shooting from three. Tonkawa had 28 turnovers which led to 31 points for Butler.
The Grizzlies led for the entirety of the game. The biggest quarter point differential was the fourth quarter when Butler outscored the Lady Mavs 17-5.
Butler begins KJCCC play on Tuesday, Nov. 21, at Northwest Kansas Technical in Goodland, Kansas, at 6:30 p.m.
