Grizzlies Open Season With 30 Point Win Over NEO

COFFEYVILLE, Kan. – Butler women's basketball opened its 2024-25 season on Friday afternoon at Nellis Hall with a 72-42 win over NEO A&M at the Coffeyville Classic.

The Grizzlies (1-0) held NEO (0-1) to just 22.4% shooting and 42 points.

Butler built a 36-18 lead at halftime and used the third quarter to build the lead further, outscoring the Norsemen 20-9 in the third frame.

Freshman guard Ashley Singhateh led the way for Butler with 21 points, seven rebounds, three steals and two assists. Fellow freshman guard Destiny Smith added 13 points on 3-7 shooting from distance to go with three rebounds. Freshman forward Kenzie Galliart had eight points and seven rebounds and sophomore guard Alba Cunill had 10 points off the bench.
