Volleyball Sweeps Garden City on the Road

GARDEN CITY, Kan. – Butler volleyball traveled to Garden City on Wednesday evening and earned a crucial 3-0 (26-24, 25-19, 25-20) KJCCC win over the Broncbusters at Conestoga Arena.

With the win, Butler (15-11, 7-5 KJCCC) moved past Garden City (18-10, 8-6 KJCCC) into fourth place in the KJCCC standings with four matches remaining this season. The Grizzlies went 2-0 over Garden City this season, sweeping the Broncbusters in both matches. It was the seventh straight win over Garden City for Butler, dating back to the spring 2021 season.

The Grizzlies hit over .250 in all three sets including a match-high .389 in the opening set. Set two saw the Grizzlies on fire defensively, holding Garden City to just .081 hitting.

Freshman middle blocker Raven Boone notched a team-high 11 kills on .588 hitting, her seventh double-digit kill performance of the season and second straight after having 12 kills vs. Cloud County.

Freshman setter Anja Milosevic had a double-double of 29 assists and 11 digs. Sophomore outside hitter Greta Santini had a team-high 12 digs to go with eight kills. Sophomore middle blocker Sydney Lentz had a team-high five blocks. Freshman outside hitter Sarah Sullivan finished with seven kills and nine digs.

The Grizzlies return to action on Saturday, Oct. 21, as they travel to Great Bend to take on first place Barton at 6:30 p.m.
