EL DORADO, Kan. – Butler volleyball swept Garden City 3-0 (25-22, 25-21, 25-19) at the Power Plant on Wednesday evening, snapping a three-game conference losing streak.
Butler (7-8, 2-3) swept the Broncbusters (8-5, 2-2) in what is the Grizzlies sixth straight three set match, win or lose.
The sophomore duo of Avery DeLong and Anja Milosevic led the Grizzly offensive attack as DeLong had a team-high 10 kills while Milosevic added a double-double of 29 assists and 14 digs. Freshman Gretta Stover added nine kills on .300 hitting. Sophomore raven Boone led the Grizzlies with four blocks.
Butler's momentum began late in the first set as the Grizzlies claimed five of the final six points to win it 25-22.
The third set saw Butler go on a 9-3 run to take a 20-14 lead.
Garden City was led by Andrea Djordjevic with five kills and Gaby Santos who added three kills.
