Fast Start Not Enough for Grizzlies at Dodge City

The Grizzlies (11-12, 3-4 KJCCC) won the first two sets before being reverse swept by the Conqs (15-10, 5-2). The win snapped Butler's two-match win streak in conference play.
Raven Boone led the Grizzlies with 17 kills, hitting .400 on the night to go with six blocks and six digs. Maggie Miller added 12 kills and Sarah Sullivan had 11 kills and 11 digs.
The first set was back and forth throughout as Dodge City actually had set point at multiple times. The Grizzlies ended up closing it out 28-26. Set two saw Dodge City race out to a 9-2 lead. The Grizzlies battled back to tie it 19-19 and ultimately won the set two, 30-28.
The third and fourth sets were both close but with Dodge City leading throughout both. Butler grabbed a 5-3 early lead in the fifth set but a 7-0 run helped propel Dodge City to the win.
Butler returns home on Wednesday at 6 p.m., taking on the Pratt Beavers at the Power Plant.
